Selene is a venezuelan pianist and singer based in New York City.
Formed as a classical pianist, her musical path includes contrasting experiences as performing with symphonic orchestras in her native Venezuela, touring Europe with the top ska band in Latin America, publishing a biography of pianist Teresa Carreño, composing and arranging music, acting, writing poetry and dramaturgy.
Her album "Natural no Literal" is an intimate production that celebrates Latin American folklore. It aims to honor, in a very personal way, the work of the venezuelan composer Aldemaro Romero, whose versatility and ability to break barriers allowed Venezuelan music to evolve to a different stage. Selections of this repertoire were recorded by Selene for the Steinway & Sons' Spirio Catalog, the iconic brand's high resolution player piano.
